Since 1996, each two years, the Instituto de Estudios Riojanos in cooperation with other institutions, has organised the Simposios de Historia Actual (Symposiums of Present History). With a open interdisciplinary nature and an important international dimension in its last editions, this scientific forum has became a reference for Present History discussions, so for presentation of researches about any issue related to our very recent history. The results of each of these scientific meetings have been produced a serie of publications, first in acts, and actually in Monographies of the serie Historia del Tiempo Presente (History of the Present Time) that has contributed to give more circulation to works presented in the symposiums.
